About Finchale Abbey Touring Park
Welcome to our family run touring park, gently nestled within the lush Durham countryside, a site of outstanding beauty for a perfect peaceful retreat.
The ruins of Finchale (pronounced Fink-le) have stood in the meander of the river Wear for hundreds of years and the surrounding scenery and picturesque sights and views make the caravan park, which overlooks the Abbey quite unique and stunning in its own right.

We are only 4 miles from the historical city of Durham where you can find everything from a day out shopping in high end stores to bespoke artisan shops, take in the sites of the city from the Castle to Durham Cathedral or take a boat out on the river.
Our family run park has been in our family since 1951 and will always stay in our family as that's how we deliver the best customer relations and make them customers into lifelong friends who come back time and time again and we love seeing them comeback and enjoy our site.
Our Farm Shop
Our small farm shop is ideal for them hot or cold days. The shop which is also a small cafe sits within the main farmhouse which dates back to the 1200s and is overlooked by the ancient Abbey ruins.

You can enjoy a fine coffee, cappuccino, latte, mocha, filter coffee or tea, maybe an ice cold soft drink in the sun or a delicious ice cream.

We also sell Finchale honey which is from our own bee hives, chutney and apple juice from our orchards and hen and duck eggs from our resident birds. The cafe also serves a range of hot and cold sandwiches along with homemade farmhouse soups and roast beef hot rolls.

Close By Our Site
Approximately ten minutes walk from the main site is Cocken Lodge driving range, here they have a private bar which patrons of the park are invited to use. Also close by is the Newton Grange pub, that also does some very tasty food and dogs are welcome in the outdoor seated areas..

Within 2 miles of our park we also have the fantastic Arnison Centre which is a large retail area with a camping and outdoors shop, Sainsbury's, fast food outlets along with top brand stores like Nike and Next.
