Finchale Abbey is a family run Touring Park that has been with the current owners since 1951. Set in the heart of the beautiful County Durham countryside, the park lies within a meander of the River Wear and overlooks the ruins of a Benedictine Priory. The peace and tranquillity of the Adult Only Touring Park encourages visitors from all over the world to return time and again and is one of the North East premier residential parks.

Lodges can be made to order but we do have lodges that are for sale on the park, both newly sited and established lodges are available. Please see the For Sale page for more information.

Although the touring park is now officially Caravan/motor home only for the following important local events we will be accepting tents onto the park although we will be remaining adult only.

The Tall Ships Race 7th - 10th August 2010
Great North Run 18th - 19th September 2010

The park is ideally situated for visiting all of Co Durham's high lights, being less than an hours drive from Sea, Dales, Moor lands, Towns and Cities an only four miles from the historic city of Durham. Please see the Local Information section for more details.
