On entering the site a view of the Priory instantly meets you.

The caravan site has beautiful views overlooking the priory and the river.

The park looks at it's most beautiful in the snow, roads around the park are maintained and gritted to ensure smooth and easy access to any caravaners who are brave enough to venture out in the snow!

February half-term 2005
The snow really was the 'icing on the cake' for our young visitors.

May bank holiday 2006 was again fully booked. Everyone had a lovely stay and although the weather wasn’t fantastic (it was a bank holiday after all!!) it was pleasant.

Although we no longer accept tents onto the caravan park we still cater for a range of visitors including caravans, caravettes, trailer tents and even coaches. The coach shown here is from Germany and visits each summer.

A bridge crosses the river near to the priory and allows easy access to country walks on the banks of the river Wear.

The abbey and surrounding area are at their most beautiful in the snow.

Although the farm at the caravan park is no longer working, a range of farmyard birds are still kept which all of the children enjoy looking at and feeding.

The peacocks are always a favourite and often pop down to the shop to see what treats are on offer!

If you are lucky you may even catch a glimpse of the local wildlife.

Pheasants are seen and heard all around the park and geese can be seen on the river.
